Company

The company is a global organisation with a multi billion euro annual turnover and is a world leader in many of its sectors already. This major player in the food manufacturing and processing arena has created a new role to champion innovation across key market sectors in the EMEA region.  Consequently, our client seeks a dynamic individual with real business presence and an international R&D track record in major blue chip businesses.

Description

This position is about driving the functional diversity agenda for R&D and entails leading the creation of deep consumer and technological insights to enable R&D to truly influence the business agenda.

With customers in every distribution channel - from foodservice, through manufacturing, to retail convenience meals and snacks - application opportunities are extensive.  This role gives responsibility for a large team of people based across a number of European-wide development centres whose remit is to generate additional revenue for both the business itself and for its diverse customer base.  You will be providing the direction and delivery of an R&D pipeline of projects on both a short and long term basis in the science and technology of ingredients and flavour systems across the protein range.

Reporting into a key Senior Director of the business for the EMEA market, you will have strategic responsibility for incremental and step-change programmes across the business.  By developing meaningful relationships with external institutions and research facilities, you will enable the company to stay at the vanguard of innovation - new technologies, food trends and market dynamics.  In tandem, you will drive cost improvement programmes across existing products and processes.

Profile

To be considered, you will need to be educated to at least higher degree level in food science/technology and have a very deep knowledge of manufacturing processes across a number of different technologies.  You will be at ease with all levels of management, and your drive as a business leader will be tangible and results achieved through excellent team and project management skills.  You will also be fluent in spoken and written English language.

Early applications are encouraged as short-listed candidates will be submitted to our client in April.
